Hallmark are delighted to welcome our new Exec team for 2025/26, following their election at our AGM:

Chairman – Jules Roberts
Vice-Chairman – Daniel Brooks
Treasurer – Pippa Goodall
Secretary – Tim Braham
Public Relations Officer – Elliot Hunter

Jules Roberts steps up to Chairman after many years on the Exec team, working hard behind the scenes. He takes over from our long-serving Chairman, Phil Gill, who received a standing ovation, heartfelt tributes from chorus members, and a gift in recognition of everything he has done over his six years as Chairman of the club.

Daniel Brooks was elected as Vice-Chairman, having joined the chorus in January after our Taster Course. We are delighted to welcome him to the Exec, replacing Jules as he steps up to Chairman.

Pippa Goodall was formally elected as Treasurer after being co-opted to the role earlier in the year. She brings with her a wealth of experience in accountancy and barbershop, and has already modernised our accounting systems.

Tim Braham (some of you might have heard of him!) was elected as Secretary, replacing Shirley Course, who has faithfully served the chorus in this role for many years – despite the 300-mile round trip to Sheffield! We presented Shirley with a personalised jigsaw of all the Hallmark members so she won’t miss us too much. Thank you, Shirley, for everything you have done for Hallmark.

Finally, Elliot Hunter, another new member who joined in January, stepped into the role of Public Relations Officer. Elliot has leapt into the barbershop world with both feet, taking on the role of Tenor Section Leader and playing a major part in organising our upcoming Christmas show. We are delighted to have him join us on the Exec.

But the AGM isn’t just about minutes and elections – oh no! It is also our opportunity to present awards to members who have gone above and beyond to support and grow our club.

  • The Musical Maestro Award was presented to Edward Browncross for learning the Hallmark repertoire in record time and for developing software that harmonises any melody in the style of the Polecats.
  • The Hallmark Hero Award was presented to Joe Pickin for his efforts on social media and for leading a successful recruitment drive.
  • The Chairman’s Champ Award was presented to Jules Roberts for his tireless work behind the scenes, from risers to retreat planning to show organisation, never seeking attention or thanks.
  • The Social Superstar Award was presented to Jonathan Beard for making Hallmark a fun and sociable place to be, including hosting an epic summer BBQ!

Finally, members voted for the Hallmark Barbershopper of the Year Award, and we are delighted (though not at all surprised!) that it was awarded to Phil Gill, our outgoing Chairman.
